Dee Couchman has been working as a licensed clinical addictions counselor since 2000 and recently received licensure as a marriage and family therapist. She has facilitated drug and alcohol support and education groups in both outpatient and residential settings, and has conducted anger management groups, relapse prevention groups, and domestic violence awareness groups.  In addition to group therapies, Dee enjoys counseling individuals, couples, and families and applies a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy techniques with motivational interviewing to help her clients work toward positive and sustainable change.

Dee joined the Family Counseling Center in 2011.  Her personal and professional philosophy is that all people have an intrinsic desire to move toward  healthy change and that by partnering with her clients in a compassionate and directive way, they become empowered and capable of making healthier choices.

Education & Training

Originally from California, Dee started her career by receiving certification as an addictions counselor from the California Association of Addiction Recovery thirteen years ago. She earned a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, and is  currently licensed by the state of Indiana as a Marriage and Family Therapist and a Clinical Addictions Counselor.
